Style stores Roopam and Roopmilan held a fashion show to unveil "Ramp-n-Rack", a fashion venue that will provide a platform for fashion designers, product launches, new collections, choreographers and photo shoots. Nisha Jamvwal designed the show's womenswear collection whereas Roopam's Viren Shah designed the menswear.
The event was attended by celebrities and guests of Rotary Club of Bombay Sea Face and a whole host of VIPs. Television host-turned-singer Shekhar Suman walked the ramp for the first time. He also gave his first live performance. Also walking the ramp were telly stars Rohit Roy, Gayatry Chowdhry, Avinash Wadhvan, Tanaaz and Bhaktiyar, item girls Kashmira Shah and Meghna Naidu and actress Vidya Malavade.
Celebrities spotted hob-nobbing at the event were theatre diva Sharon Prabhakar with daughter Shazahn, actor Bobby Darling, theatre personalities Gary Richardson, Divya Palat, Aditya Hitkari, Raell Padamsee and Farid Currim, designer A.D. Singh, industrialist Dilip Piramal with wife Shalini, actor Siddharth Kanan, rocker Gary Lawyer and designer Rohit Verma etc.
The show consisted of four sequences. The theme of the first was "Tres Desi". Accordingly, models walked the ramp in Indian attires such as chaniya cholis, saris, sherwanis, kurta pyjama sets and bridal ensembles with intricate embellishments.
The second sequence had a Western theme. To give it a funky edge Rohit Roy lead the pack of models attired in bright westernwear while the song Aaye Ganpat played in the background.
