There have been rumours lately that two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar may follow the footsteps of the Great Khali to join the World Wrestling Entertainment fold. WWE superstar Sheamus, who is presently in India, feels it would be a great move and says the whole WWE community will welcome Sushil with open arms.

“To win an Olympic medal requires tons of dedication, sacrifice, focus and drive. WWE also requires a lot commitment and we want people like that. If that means an Olympics medallist is coming in from India, we will welcome him with open arms,” said Sheamus.

The four-time WWE World Heavyweight champion is in India for an official tour and is enjoying his stay here.

“I always wanted to come to India, I missed out on an opportunity to wrestle in January. I used to travel with Khali, he told me all the great things about the country. So, when I heard there was an opportunity to come down here, I took it,” revealed the Celtic Warrior.

Sheamus says the tour is an opportunity for WWE to thank its Indian fans. He said, “WWE likes to send down a lot of talent to thank the WWE universe, we appreciate them watching our show on a weekly basis and supporting us. It’s one of the top shows watched in the entire country (India).”

The wrestling company has been trying hard to expand its market and push its brand to east. Sheamus is impressed with the Indian talent and hopes that more Indians will join WWE in the future.

“WWE is actively searching for new talents from different countries. When I watched WWE, it was more like an American company, now it is like a global company. We are looking for new talent in India and I am sure we will be able to pick up one or two from India,” added the wrestler.

He recently worked in the movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and hopes to feature in a few more of them.

“You can only wrestle for so long. I definitely won’t mind a few more movies and it’s cool to see yourself on the big screen,” he added.

When quizzed about the toughest wrestlers he has faced, Sheamus picked the names of Big Show, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Triple H.
