Rapper-actor 50 Cent has issued an apology after being under fire for posting a video of himself making fun of a disabled young man who works at an airport.
The 40-year-old actor was criticised for posting a video of himself making fun of a man named Andrew Farrell.
The rapper, whose real name Curtis James Jackson III, issued a statement on Tuesday, reported the New York Post.
“While the incident at the airport resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding, I am truly sorry for offending the young man,” the In Da Club rapper said.
“It was certainly not my intent to insult him or the disability community, which is a source of great strength in America. I have apologised personally to him and his family,” he added.
While rumours said Andrew’s family is demanding money in compensation for the slight, a lawyer for the family said in an email that they would be satisfied by a “sincere apology.”
50 Cent originally uploaded the video on Instagram but quickly deleted it.
