The Goregaon police on Friday prepared the sketch of the man accused of raping a teenage girl three days ago.

The 14-year-old girl was alone at home on Wednesday, when the man — estimated to be around 26 to 28 years —forcefully entered her house and allegedly raped her.

According the girl, the man was wearing a striped shirt and jeans; he was thin and fair, the police said. The sketch has been circulated among all the police stations of the city and has even been sent to stations on the city outskirts.

On Thursday, the police took the girl’s statement and based on it prepared the sketch of the accused.

Officials are also checking the CCTV cameras in the vicinity to identify the accused. According to police officials, they have launched a special campaign to nab the accused.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, when the mother of the girl had gone out to work while the girl, a student of Class 10, stayed home in their flat at Aarey Colony in Goregaon.

The accused knocked at her door, and told her he was a friend of her mother and had a message for her. When the girl opened the door, the accused entered the house forcefully and raped her.

According to police officials, the accused must have known the girl and her mother, and also that the girl would be alone at home, once her mother left for work.

A police official from the Goregaon police station said, “We will get the medical report of the girl by Monday.”

The police has registered a case against an unknown man under various relevant sections of the IPC and protection of children from sexual offences Act .
