The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is going to appoint a consultant for the construction of a multi-modal station to integrate the Dahisar-DN Nagar Metro-2A corridor and Dahi

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is going to appoint a consultant for the construction of a multi-modal station to integrate the Dahisar-DN Nagar Metro-2A corridor and Dahisar (east)- Andheri (east) Metro-7 corridor.

The Dellhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would carry out the implementation of the work on the 18.5-km-long Metro-2A, whereas MMRDA is the implementing agency for the 16.5-km-long Metro-7 corridor.

Both the lines, namely Metro-2 A and Metro-7, would terminate at Dahisar. Metro-2 A would terminate at the linking road in Dahisar (west) and the Metro-7 corridor would do so at WEH in Dahisar (east).

“The role of the consultant would involve planning and designing the station that would be constructed to link both the Metro corridors,” said an MMRDA official.

Civil works on the both the lines have already begun and the contractors are expected to complete the same by December 2018, after which trial runs and obtaining the rolling stocks for the corridor would be completed in 2019. “We aim to have both the lines ready by December 2019, for which the contractors have been given instructions to work in accordance to the deadlines,” the official added.
