‘Maharashtra will become best state’

Maharashtra will strictly follow principles of the Constitution and emerge as the best state in the country, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said today.

Maharashtra will strictly follow principles of the Constitution and emerge as the best state in the country, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said today. Paying tributes to B R Ambedkar, Fadnavis said he gave the country the world's best Constitution. “Our Constitution is the best in the world. We, in Maharashtra, will strictly adhere to the principles of the Constitution and emerge as the best state in the country,” he said here on the occasion of Constitution Day. Mr Fadnavis said the country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is marching towards development and prosperity.

The CM led over 1.25 lakh students from various schools to recite the preamble of the Constitution at a mass recitation programme organised by the ministry of social justice at the Yeshwant stadium here this morning. Dressed in school uniforms, the students sporting green, saffron and white caps followed Mr Fadnavis in reciting the preamble.

State social justice minister Rajkumar Badole, energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, minister of state for social justice Dilip Kamble and city mayor Pravin Datke were present on the occasion.

RST Nagpur University's vice-chancellor Siddartha Vinayak Kane and registrar Puran Meshram presented a copy of an action plan of varsity for the the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Ambedkar.
