Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has denied reports stating that the e-ticketing portal was hacked.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has denied reports stating that the e-ticketing portal was hacked.

In a statement issued, IRCTC stated, “Indian Railways would like to clarify that there has been no hacking of the IRCTC website. The E-ticketing website has been working normally, thereby eliminating any chances of unauthorised interference.”

Certain media reports on Thursday alleged that the e-ticketing site of the railways had been hacked and personal details of the users leaked. The reports alleged that the details were being sold in a physical market and the Maharashtra cyber cell was investigating the matter. But when The Asian Age contacted Maharashtra police officials, they denied having any knowledge about the same. "We have not received any notice of any such hacking incident. IRCTC has not contacted us to look into any such case nor has our cyber cell found any record of the website being hacked," said Pravin Dixit, Director General of Police, Maharashtra.
