Socialite Sheetal Mafatlal, through her lawyer on Thursday, denied reports claiming she had forcefully entered and tried to occupy her mother’s property.

Some reports on Monday alleged that Sheetal had entered her mother’s place forcefully and gotten involved in her sister’s family matters. However, according to the statement issued by Sheetal’s lawyer, Advocate Yusuf Iqbal, “Sheetal is rightfully entitled to the said bungalow as she is the co-owner, along with her sister and mother. There are also suggestions that she is involved in her sister Poonam’s marital dispute. This is untrue. The two things are not connected. Sheetal has maintained silence on this matter despite there being false, exaggerated reporting of facts. There have never been any red corner alerts as wrongly reported. She has been in and out of India regularly.”

“The high court order clearly observes that Sheetal is the legal heir and also a shareholder of the company, which owns the property. The court has also further observed that a co-owner and co-tenant cannot be restrained from enjoying his/her property at the insistence of another co-tenant or co-owner. Sheetal categorically states that she is not connected to the ongoing dispute between her sister Poonam and her husband, Jaidev Shroff,” said advocate Iqbal’s statement.
