The CBI on Friday filed its second supplementary chargesheet in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case stating that further investigation revealed that the prime accused and deceased’s mother, Indrani Mukerjea, had allegedly called her husband Peter Mukerjea on April 23, 2012, to inform him about her efforts to survey potential spots where Sheena’s body could be destroyed after the murder.

“Further investigation has revealed that Indrani kept Peter informed on phone about the selection of place for disposal of the dead body of Sheena during the period of recce and selection of spot on April 23, 2012,” alleged the second supplementary chargesheet.

The chargesheet further claimed that Rahul had sent an email to Sheena after she went missing in which he said that he was being threatened to be shot or beaten up. “After her (Sheena’s) disappearance, Rahul in an email dated June 19, 2012, sent to Sheena, mentioned that ‘I dunno what the heck is going on!! People are still calling me with their worry. P and I are still giving me bakwaas and warning me about being shot or beaten up!!” the chargesheet read.

The agency alleged that Peter had sent several emails to his son Rahul to discourage him from pursuing the matter pertaining to disappearance of Sheena. “Further investigation has also disclosed that Kajal Sharma did not talk to Peter pretending to be Sheena. Peter was familiar with her voice as she was their only employee and he frequently spoke to her for official as well as personal work,” said the charge sheet.

The second supplementary chargesheet has added Indrani’s biological son Mekhail; former driver-turned-approver Shyamwar Rai; and her secretary Ms Sharma in the list of witnesses. Though the high court in the past has made it clear that the investigating agency should share all documents on which it is relying in trial, with the accused, CBI on Friday requested the court to make an exception.
