In a shocking incident, an accused in a robbery case on Tuesday threw a sandal at the Judge of the sessions court because he was frustrated that his case was not being heard.

In a shocking incident, an accused in a robbery case on Tuesday threw a sandal at the Judge of the sessions court because he was frustrated that his case was not being heard.

When the sandal missed its mark, the accused started abusing the judge till the escorting officers forcefully took him away.

The Colaba police has taken the accused into custody. The incident occurred around 12.30 pm when Judge S.V. Patil was heading the bench in courtroom number 25. The accused, identified as Madan Govind Chouhan, was presented in the court for a hearing in a robbery case registered against him by the RCF police station in 2013.

According to police, “He told officials in his statement that he was frustrated that his case was not coming up for hearing and was being delaying for three years. Even on Tuesday his case was got next date for hearing, and he could not control his frustration and, therefore, he threw the sandal on Judge.”

According to Chouhan’s statement, he is innocent but was arrested because someone had misguided the police.

When the Judge announced the next date for hearing, the accused suddenly threw the chappal at the judge that he was wearing.

The Colaba police has registered a case against Chouhan and has booked him under Sections 353, 336 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code.
