27-year-old constable dies in road mishap

A 27-year-old constable attached with the Goregaon police station died in a road accident late on Monday night in Palghar. Local police have registered a case in the matter, and further probe is on. The deceased constable has been identified as Vrushabh Mali, a resident of Chahad village in Palghar. Mali travelled back and forth from Palghar to Mumbai and he used to park his motorcycle at Palghar station. The incident took place around 11 pm at Manor Road while Mali was returning home after picking up his motorcycle, the police said.

Mali was discovered lying in a pool of blood by passers-by who immediately called the police helpline. Local police officers reached the spot and rushed Mali to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. His body was sent for autopsy.

An officer attached with the Palghar-Manor police station said Mali’s forehead was injured so it looks like that he was hit from the front by a heavy vehicle. The police is trying to identify the vehicle but no witness has come forward to enlighten the police about the incident.
