The 2,400-odd homebuyers, who have booked flats in the Chhagan Bhujbal-promoted Hex World project, will soon file a writ petition in the high court to get development rights to the property. The property was seized by the enforcement directorate (ED) a few days ago, in the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) case filed against NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, his son Pankaj and nephew Sameer.

The investors want the property handed over to them for development as they have invested money in the project.

The homebuyers, who had booked flats in the Hex World project in 2009 and 2010, alleged that Bhujbal family cheated them by not building a single room. These investors filed a complaint with the Taloja police in June 2015 against Pankaj and nephew Sameer, besides three other directors of realty firm Devisha Infrastructure, under IPC sections 420, 406, 120 (B) and Maharashtra Ownership Flats act 3,4, 5,8.

One of the investors, Lalasaheb Lomte, said, “After we came to know about Hex World project scam we formed an association called Home Buyers Association of 2,400 investors. We have lost lakhs in this project and ideally, we should get the possession of this property to develop our homes. For this we will file a writ petition in the high court requesting it to give us possession of these properties and the authority to develop this property.”

The ED last November attached a plot worth Rs 160 crore of a realty firm which was registered in the name of Devisha Infrastructure in connection with a money laundering probe against former Maharashtra PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal. ED arrested Chhagan Bhujbal in the same case in March and also his nephew Sameer Bhujbal. Both are lodged in Arthur Road jail.
