Mumbai: Owing to their vast network, coupled with economical feasibility, public transport buses are the most preferred mode of commuting for thousands of people living in the Mira Bhayandar.

However, these buses have now bec-ome a hub for petty criminals — especially pickpockets. Fourty-year-old, Govind Verma was robbed of cash amounting Rs 18,000 while travelling on a bus in Mira Road.

Mr Verma, who boarded a bus from Shivar Garden in Mira Road said, “Out of four, one of them pushed me from one side, the other in an apparent bid to divert my attention dropped some coins on the floor of the bus. When I stood up to make way for him to pick the fallen coins, he flicked the cash from my pocket. They then alighted at the next stop.”
