Breach of privilege motion against Desai?

Mumbai: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Eknath Khadse on Thursday said that he would move a breach of privilege notice against industries minister Subhash Desai next week for allegedly furnishing false information about a land deal in Bhosari Maharashtra Industrial Development Corpora-tion (MIDC).
 
A former revenue minister, Mr Khadse had earlier faced allegations for misusing his ministerial position to get his family the land at a throwaway price.  Mr Khadse lost his ministerial post after the accusation and a committee headed by a retired judge was set up to probe the matter. The report by the committee has been submitted to Mr Fadnavis but nothing has been revealed about the report. 

“I have been accused of for misusing my ministerial post to get the land. I want to clarify the issue before the people and present some facts. The issue has been used to deliberately campaign against me,” Mr Khadse said.

The former minister added, “I had given a notice of privilege against the industries minister on  July 9 last year. But I did not get any reply regarding the issue. Desai has given false information regarding the Bhosari land and misled the house. Give me an opportunity to present the breach of privilege motion next week.”
