Mumbai: Accused-turned approver  in the Sheena Bora case, Shyamvar Rai, on Thursday told the court that he  did not know if the woman in three videos is his wife or not and he can identify his wife if her photograph is shown to him. Peter Mukerjea’s defence lawyer Thursday played three video clips of news channels in the courtroom in which a lady claiming to be Rai’s wife spoke to the media.

The defence argued he is deliberately not identifying his wife in the news interview because she is claiming that the police picked him on Wednesday, which is contrary to his story of arrest on another day.

After watching the video Rai said, “How can I say if she is my wife by watching these videos? I can identify my wife if her photograph is shown to me.”  However, Rai accepted that the lady looked like his wife. He also said he could not identify her voice in the video.

The defence lawyer asked Rai if he was suffering from any disease which causes memory loss, . Rai denied having any such disease or taking medicine for  a disease.
