HC rejects bail, citing threat to and from accused

Mumbai: A sessions court in the city recently refused to grant bail to a juvenile in a brutal murder case citing reasons of threat to his life and the possibility of the accused targeting his rival.

The prosecution’s case is that on March 12, 2016 the accused, along with his companions entered the victim, Asif’s house and assaulted him with a sword and other sharp weapons.

Other witnesses present in the house were also attacked and injured. Asif succumbed to his injuries and the accused, who was 17-years-old at the time of committing the crime, was arrested but was sent to Juvenile Board given his age.

The accused applied for bail before the Juvenile Justice board, after the police had filed the chargesheet.
