Mumbai: The Maharashtra government will take action against principals who don’t support MRV (measles-rubella vaccine) drives in their schools. The state officials said in a letter issued to the concerned education departments to take action against such schools for not cooperating with the drive.

A notice will be issued to the principals of these schools that have not participated in the measles-rubella vaccine vaccination campaign.

The state education commissioner, Vishal Solanki, has written the letter to all concerned officers of the state education department.

The letter reads, “Repeat sessions should be conducted in those schools where vaccination has not taken place or the percentage of vaccination is very less. The officers should check if 100 per cent vaccination has been carried out in their area or not. If the principal is not cooperating, necessary administrative action should be initiated.”
