Mumbai: A two-member police team from Haryana questioned Ryan Pinto, CEO of Ryan International Group of Institutions for second consecutive day on Wednesday. The police team questioned Mr Pinto about the documents and the alleged murder of a seven-year-old boy in the group’s Gurugram school. The team is likely to return to Haryana on  Friday after it gathers case related details in Mumbai.

The Haryana police officers quizzed the school staff and checked the documents on Wednesday for about six hours. The Haryana police officers had also visited the school premises on Tuesday and conducted an eight-hour long interrogation. While on their way out, the officers collected documents and files as a proof to show in the court, as a part of the probe. The body of the boy was found inside the school’s toilet last Friday, and his throat had been slit.

Vinay Kumar Rathod, deputy commissioner of police, zone 12 said that the Mumbai police force was assisting the Haryana police officers in keeping the law and order situation under control near the Ryan schools.

With the CEO Ryan Pinto quizzed inside the school, the Nationalist Congress Party workers protested outside the Ryan International School’s Thakur Complex campus demanding that the teaching and non-teaching staff employed in the school should go through a rigorous background check, with police verification.

Anil Mane, a senior police inspector of Samta Nagar police station, said, “The protest took place on Wednesday morning, and the situation was brought under control within an hour. The teams stationed outside the school campus handled the situation swiftly.”
