Actor’s spouse arrested for harassment
The police arrested 38-year-old Abhinav Gohil after she lodged a complaint that he was abusing their daughter.
Mumbai: The Samata Nagar police on Sunday arrested the second husband of a prominent television actress. The police arrested 38-year-old Abhinav Gohil after she lodged a complaint that he was abusing their daughter.
The police said that around 1.45 pm, the television actress reported that her second husband was abusing their daughter — Gohil’s stepdaughter.
“The woman alleged that the accused was outraging the modesty of her daughter by making obscene comments and showing vulgar photos on his mobile phone since October 2017,” said Dilip Sawant, additional commissioner of police (North region).
Following the complaint, the Samata Nagar police registered a case against Gohil under sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (outraging modesty) and under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
