A case under section 387 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The trio were remanded to police custody till December 13.

Mumbai: Four people including a minor, who posed as cronies of an underworld don and demanded money from a highly paid company executive, have landed into the custody of the Kashimira police.

The Mira Road based complainant approached the police alleging that some men claiming to be member's of an underworld gang had been calling him and demanding `20 lakh, for the past couple of weeks. The caller threatened to harm him and members of his family if he failed to pay the money.

A team led by assistant police inspector Ganesh Bhamre and senior police inspector Vaibhav Shingare under the supervision of SP Dr Shivaji Rathod swung into action.  On the basis of technical surveillance and a robust informer network the police team managed to nab the quartet including a 17-year-old minor boy.

A case under section 387 of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The trio were remanded to police custody till December 13.
