Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar admits to taking bribe?

Kolkata: After Sultan Ahmed, another Trinamul Congress Lok Sabha MP, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, has reportedly admitted to accepting cash from Narada CEO Mathew Samuel during his sting operation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). However, she claimed to the investigators during her questioning last week that she had returned the money instantly to Mr Samuel, according to sources.

The Trinamul MP from Barasat, North 24 Parganas also questioned about why the footage of her returning the cash was yet to be found. Sources revealed that Ms Dastidar had complained about being framed in a political vendetta. Her claims, if found true, may add a twist to the case in which Mr Samuel has so far claimed that all the 12 Trinamul leaders took money from him during the sting, which have been found authentic in the test by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory.

A three-member team of the CBI’s anti-corruption branch visited Dr Ghosh Dastidar at her residence in Madhyamgram and questioned her for four hours on July 14.
