Kolkata: A medical student committed suicide by consuming poison in Howrah on Tuesday after her lover refused to marry her. Sanchita Chatterjee (26), the deceased, was a resident of B. Road at Liluah.  Sanchita had an affair with Kaushik Ghosh, a student of Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital. Sanchita’s family members alleged that Kaushik’s father had asked her to leave his son because Sanchita’s father Uttam Chatterjee is a priest. They also lodged a complaint with the police against Kaushik’s father for abetment. Sanchita’s body was sent for post-mortem.
