CM Mamata Banerjee voices ‘anguish’ over top court developments

Kolkata: The unprecedented outburst by the Supreme Court’s four senior judges has come as a shot in the arm of chief minister Mamata Banerjee in renewing her attacks on the Modi government at the Centre.

Within few hours of the press meet by the four judges in New Delhi on Friday Ms Banerjee in the afternoon expressed her anguish while accusing the Centre of interfering in the judiciary which she described as “dangerous for democracry.”

She tweeted, “We are deeply anguished with the developments today about the Supreme Court. What we are getting from the statement of the four senior Hon’ble Judges of Supreme Court about the affairs of the Court makes us really sad as citizens.”
