Pune: At a time when the BJP is celebrating completion of three years at the Centre, former environment minister, Jairam Ramesh, has alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is taking credit for schemes introduced by the UPA and that Mr Modi is good only at campaigning. Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of completion of three years by the Modi government by the Pune District Congress Committee on Friday, Mr Ramesh also called Mr Modi a “ruthless politician”.

“Three years of the  BJP government at the Centre can be summed up as: ‘Who has worked and who is taking credit, maximum publicity and minimum thoughts, and,
my talks are my rules’. These three years have been nothing but the politics of revenge and fear, poor economical conditions and employment, and violence-based caste and religion,” he said.

He added, “Modi can be seen taking credit for bringing the GST bill but he was the one who opposed GST from 2010 to 2014 during the UPA regime. It was said that demonetisation would curb terrorism and Naxalism and bring back black money and stop fake currency. But no purpose has been achieved through demonetisation...”
