Pune: Yet another Mumbaikar has paid the price for holiday daredevilry. A 24-year-old boy from the city died while frolicking under a waterfall in Lonavala where he, along with his friends, had gone for a trip. The deceased, identified as Dhaval Vijay Parmar, slipped from a rock under the fall and fell into a deep ditch. Although his friends could see him going down with the water, they could not save him owing to the depth of the ditch.

Sandip Shinde, police sub-inspector, Lonavala city, said, “The boy who is from Andheri had come to Lonavala along with one male friend and three female friends. They were playing under a waterfall near Ghubad Lake when he fell into a deep ditch nearby. As the ditch was deep, his friends could not rescue him.”

“Later, his friends called the police which reached the venue. As the waterfall was in a forest-and-lake area, the police had to call trekkers of Shivdurgapremi Mandal. After two gruelling hours, the team was able to find the boy’s body. He was already dead but we still sent his body to a civic hospital. Meanwhile, his family came from Mumbai and claimed the body.”
