Nashik: Farmers in Nashik burned mock copies of the state government’s farm loan waiver proposal on Sunday.

Stating that the conditions mentioned in the proposal are stringent, they asserted that the state government should provide relief to all farmers by waiving off their loans and should not choose beneficiaries on different parameters.

However, the Maharashtra government has said it will disclose the details of the loan waiver by the end of October.

Sarpanch Devendra Kajale threatened to reignite the stir. “Farmers in the state will continue to the agitate. We are against the stringent conditions mentioned in the loan waiver proposal,” he said.
