Don’t write to PM Modi, AIIMS staff told

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) administration has warned its employees of disciplinary action if they write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi or other minister directly for redressal of their grievances.
On Saturday, The Asian Age had reported the AIIMS doctors wrote directly to the PM over non-implementation of recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission and had threatened to strike if they weren’t implemented.
Following the letter, the AIIMS administration, in a memorandum, said submission of representations to “outside authorities”, bypassing the hospital, would be treated as an “unbecoming conduct” and advised the employees to submit those to the concerned officer or to AIIMS director.
“Such representations submitted to other authorities bypassing the AIIMS has been viewed seriously,” the memo read. “Submission of such representations to directly to outside authorities, would be treated as an unbecoming conduct thereby attracting provisions of Rule 3 (1) (iii) of CCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and inviting disciplinary action against the violators, the memo read.
