New Delhi: A 13-year-old Hong Kong artist was allegedly beaten up and assaulted by a South Delhi resident on Thursday. A senior police official said that the accused, Gurjeet Singh, had not only misbehaved with the victim but also thrashed her.

“A case was lodged with the Vasant Kunj (South) police station,” said an official. The cops also added that the victim was heartbroken, as her parents had decided to live separately. Following this, she had come to India with her friend and was staying in Noida. “She met the accused at a Metro station who on the pretext of helping her, took her cell phone number. She told the accused that she was an artist and wanted to see the Indian culture. The accused promised that he would help her,” the police added.

The official said that the accused then called her at his residence in South Delhi on the pretext of taking her to visit historical places.

“The victim said that when she reached his residence, she came to know that she was tricked. The victim claimed that the accused then thrashed her,” said the police. The victim somehow escaped and reported the matter.
