New Delhi: A section of senior leaders in the Delhi unit of BJP are not happy with the way the state leadership is confronting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. They said if the party wants to strengthen its position before upcoming parliamentary election, the local leadership should plan and vehemently protest on the streets.

They said that in addition to 'routine' things like a press conference criticizing the AAP government and demonstration by different wings of party, state leadership should launch direct attack on the government strategically, which is currently missing.

Commenting on the recent political activities of the party, senior leaders said that it looks like that the Delhi BJP has failed to start any major agitation against the Arvind Kejriwal government. "Instead of cornering the Kejriwal government, Delhi BJP is more busy in reacting to whatever the city government is doing. Being the main opposition party in the national capital, BJP failed to occupy the position," they added.

Delhi BJP seniors claimed that the one-upmanship among state office bearers are also hampering the state unit. "Instead of working together, senior office bearers are busy in scoring some brownie points over own colleagues. Today itself, workers from East Delhi, along with the SC Morcha, protested at chief minister’s residence against death of five sanitation workers in Moti Nagar, which falls under Karol Bagh district. Why no senior leader from the district joined the protest. It clearly shows that the leadership from East Delhi is trying to show dominance over others," they said.

The senior leaders pointed that there is complete lack of coordination between state leadership and the party-ruled three municipal corporations.
