New Delhi: A lady teacher of a private school in Gurgaon was suspended following a video of an incident, where she allegedly put sellotape across the mouths of two LKG students to keep them quiet during a class, school authorities said on Saturday.

A video of the incident, which took place in October, has surfaced on social media. In the video, the teacher is purportedly seen putting sellotape across the mouths of two four-year-old students, one boy and one girl, during a class.

Based on the complaint of the parents of the two students, the school management immediately suspended the teacher.

“Based on complaint by the students’ parents, we took strict action and suspended the teacher,” said Gururaj, the principal of the school.

The teacher claimed that the students were disturbing the entire class and sometimes used filthy language.

A couple of days ago, a 12-year-old girl had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her school in Delhi’s Inderpuri after she was irked by her teacher’s continuous scoldings. The girl had even written a suicide note on her hand and palm, said the police on Thursday. The mother of the girl alleged that she might have taken the step because of the repeated scolding from her school teacher, who reportedly even used abusive language and called her “characterless.”
