Most colleges of Delhi University closed admissions for the two most popular courses - B.A. (Honours) in Political Science and English.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University released its second cut-off list for admission to undergraduate courses in various colleges. The highest cut-off percentage set in the second list was 98.25 per cent for B.A. Economics (Hons) course in Hindu College.

Most colleges of Delhi University closed admissions for the two most popular courses - B.A. (Honours) in Political Science and English. While the admissions for courses like B.Com (Hons), B.Com and Economics (Hons) are still open, the decrease in cut-offs has been nominal in all of these courses.

However in the cut-off, 20 colleges have closed admission in the B.A.(Hons) Political Science course making it one of the most popular courses followed by English (Hons).

The second cut-off for B.Com (H) is 98 per cent in Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), 97.50 per cent for B.A. English (H) in Lady Shri Ram College (LSR), 98 per cent for B.Sc Physics (H) in Hansraj, 96.50 per cent for B.Sc Mathematics (H) in Kirori Mal College (KMC), Miranda and Ramjas college and 96.25 per cent for B.A. Political Science (H) in Shri Venkateswara College.

In Kirori Mal College, with a drop of .50 per cent cut-off for B.A. English (H) 96.50 per cent. For B.A. Economics (H) it was 98 per cent and for B.Com (H) it touched 97.75 per cent with a drop of .25 per cent.

The cut-off percentage in Hansraj College decreased marginally, of a .5 per cent, in B.A. Economics (H) with 98 per cent. 96.75 per cent for B.A. English (H) with a decrease of .50 per cent, 97.50 per cent for B.Com (H) with a decrease of .75 per cent.

A cumulative list indicating the minimum marks needed to get admission in various courses of all colleges went live on the university website du.ac.in post on Wednesday midnight.

In Ramjas College, the cutoff for B.A. Economics (H) remained at 98 per cent and B.Com (H) with a .50 per cent decrease 97.50 per cent, while .50 per cent decrease for B.A. (H) English with 96.50 per cent, B.Sc Physics and Mathematics (Hons), it is 97.33 and 96.50.

The cut-off in Gargi College with a decrease of .50 per cent for B.A. Economics (H) is 96.50, with a drop of .25 per cent in both B.A. English (H) and B.A. Political Science (H) is 95.75 per cent and 95.50 per cent, .25 per cent drop for B.Com (H) is 96.25, with 1 per cent drop in B.Sc Physics (H) 96 per cent and 95.50 per cent for B.Sc Maths (H).

All top colleges including Hindu, Hansraj, Kirori Mal, Miranda, Lady Shri Ram and Ramjas closed admissions for Political Science while admissions for English (Hons) were closed in Hindu, Miranda, Moti Lal Nehru College, Atma Ram, Kalindi College, Dyal Singh and others.
