New Delhi: Emphasising initiate movements against the privatisation and the autonomy of the higher education institutions to keep up with the quality of higher education make it affordable for all, CYSS and Aisa announced a joint manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Univer-sity elections.

Among the many pre-poll promises, the two outfits announced to set up chhatra clinics on the lines of the mohalla clinic concept in the colleges to provide free health facilities to the students.

The two parties also announced to ensure inst-allation of CCTV cameras and police booth to control the violence and provide a peaceful atmosphere in the DU campus.

The two student parties had decided to fight the upcoming Dusu elections to bring a positive change in the education system of the university, and to provide better learning facilities to the students. The parties have said that together they will also fight against the dictatorship and hooliganism created by ABVP-NSUI.

“Two members of Aisa will be contesting for the post of President and Vice-President whereas two members from Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) will be contesting for General Secretary and Joint Secretary,” they said. The CYSS-Aisa joint manifesto has also promised to make improve the facilities for the students, especially those belonging to the other states.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said that since the university attracts many students from other states, who might not have adequate facilities to study, the parties will ensure establishing of the world-class libraries that will be equipped with best collection of books, which s hall be available to the students round-the-clock.
