A common notion is that being in a relationship is much better than being single and "lonely". But benefits of single-hood highlighted for a while seem to show that single women have an upper hand over women in relationships when it comes to sex.

The female orgasm has been a subject of great interest for a while with it being a myth few decades back and controversial research suggesting its evolution recently. A new study suggests that women who are not in a relationship have an easier time getting orgasms as compared to those who are not single.

The study observed over 2000 women over a period of seven years and studied changes in their sex lives. It found that women in the same monogamous relationship for seven years showed the greatest drop in sex drive while single women showed a consistent rise in the ability to reach climax.

The study didn’t suggest that women who are in a relationship don’t have improvement in the ability to experience an orgasm at all, but mentioned that single women showed the highest level of improvement. It also said that single women might have had these orgasms with or without partners.
