Minimalism is IN. And for good reason! The philosophy of streamlined bedrooms and fundamental spaces that clear the mind is what many are opting for. To get a minimalist bedroom, here are some interesting and aesthetic ideas that can transform your personal space beautifully.

Go Au Naturale
A warm and inviting aesthetic many associate with minimalism are plants and exposed bricks — they keep the bedroom simple and close to nature. You can add a touch of blue or any colour on the potted plants to give it vibrancy.

Go low
Those of you who have large windows, opt for a low bed to preserve the line of sight. Add some artworks to the windows, and cabinetry so that the low bed platform minimises visual clutter and brings the beautiful landscape inside.

Go black and white
You can also go colour co-ordinated with a black and white theme. For instance, use a black headboard on your bed, and maybe add artistic lines to it, or even a throw. This is a great addition to any bedroom because it’s a neutral colour and looks very classy. You can choose white sheets, a white caned chair and table to make it visually appealing.

Go classic
The entire atmosphere of a bedroom can be about dark colored linens and a few rugs in rich hues. You can add a painting as a relief or even let the windows be the cynosure of all eyes.

Go rustic
Rustic decor is earthy, and a room dressed in white with huge picture windows helps bring in natural lighting. Get a lower bed, or one on pallets, which makes the room look bigger than it is. Leave the floor space open and uncluttered. And add some straw and wooded flowers for relief, or even am old milk pail painted in a colour of your choice, which also doubles up as a basket for your knick-knacks.

Go artsy
If you have beautiful hardwood floors, and are in an apartment, then you can make the most of the gorgeous view of the city. A bed in black and white, and a wall which is darker than the rest. Add some of your creations, a nice artsy window frame or just some hangings to give it relief.

Go Murphy
Murphy beds are the best way to hide where you sleep, especially if you live in a small apartment or loft. These beds fold up into the wall, not to be seen by company and to maximise living space when you aren’t using it. There are ones that fold out sideways into a twin bed. The rest of the room can have a chair, rug, and a small table too.
