Carrying a child in the womb is considered a very special experience by several women across the globe but it’s also a challenging task. While complications at the time of child birth are not new, sometimes things can go terribly wrong putting both the baby and the mother at risk.

In a bizarre incident from China, a woman almost died when the baby inside her kicked so hard that it tore the wall of the womb. As the woman was left bleeding and in pain, doctors had to perform an emergency c-section to deliver the baby that also faced the risk of a deadly infection.

Zhang was 35 weeks pregnant when she experienced pain in her stomach and thought that it was an upset tummy. But things got worse with the woman complaining of extreme pain as well as problems with blood pressure, pulse and breathing.

Ultrasound showed that the baby had kicked through the uterus wall into the abdominal cavity. The woman was rushed to an operating theatre in five minutes fearing that she could suffer internal bleeding and go into shock.

Zhang had undergone operation to remove fibroids from her womb last year and an old wound scar on the uterus wall left a weak spot. Although the child’s arrival was chaotic and painful, the mother and baby are doing well now.
