Mumbai now has a haven for the health conscious, salad lovers and smoothie slurpers. Bunty Arora, owner of Doppio bar and Brasserie has recently given his second offering to Mumbai, Flax.

Flax has opened at Mathuradas Mill compound famously known as Todi Mills in Lower Parel.

According to the owner, the reason to open FLAX also stemmed from the fact that stress levels among people in the city, be it young or old are at an all time high. Whilst there is a lot of awareness of food that is good for you and what is bad, people do tend to take their health for granted in a city like Mumbai that is filled with people who are constantly on-the-go.

Arora’s endeavour aims at an ideal eatery for healthy, wholesome and tasty food. The restaurant, according to Arora,  aims to motivate people to eat healthy, whether or not one is exercising, as diet plays a very important role in a body’s cholesterol, stress and overall health levels.

According to Arora, the USP of Flax is the fact that they use quality local ingredients in all their dishes which are healthy, yummy and to top it off have a nutritional chart as well.

Speaking on the opening of Flax, owner Bunty Arora says, “I believe that in today’s day and age, it is very important to eat healthy. The lifestyles today are hectic and people need to realize that just by hitting the gym or taking your routine daily walk doesn’t keep you healthy.”

He goes on to add, “Your diet plays a really important factor and it’s what you eat that constitutes how healthy as a person you are. This prompted me to open Flax.”

On why he chose to open Flax in the same building as Doppio, Bunty adds that, “Well it’s the gym that is the focal point which made me open Flax here in the same building. The clientele know and appreciate the kind of food we serve and that is a big morale booster knowing that we’re heading in the right direction.”

Flax has also introduced the ideal lunch and dinner meal option known as Fit Meal, a meal comprising of a protein with the right amount of grains and vegetables such as Thai Peanut Tofu served with soy mirin soba noodles and steamed broccoli, Basil Pesto Fish served with warm couscous and pumpkin puree, Chipotle Grilled Chicken served with peppers and mixed beans.

Some of the signature salads include the Power Booster and It's A Tofu Thing. Their super bowls include the Mezze Bowl and The So Thai Bowl as well as the Indian Chicken Bowl. The place also offers a range of cold pressed juices.

Apart from promoting healthy living in a yummy way, Flax promises to not burn a hole in the pocket price points that are moderate and affordable.
