3 days of funfare at lsr

LSR’s much awaited fest Tarang kicked off with a bang last week. The three-day fiesta started off with musical events — Western group singing, battle of bands and Splash of Music. Zesty participation by students from various DU colleges spoke volumes about their calibre.
The theme of the fest this year was the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore, to commemorate the Nobel laureate’s 150th birth anniversary.
While music ruled with popular rock band Them Clones giving a rocking closing performance on day one and “Soul’d Out” being crowned the winner in the battle of bands, there were a number of other interesting events such as treasure hunt, beg borrow steal and choreography round that left the audience mesmerised.
Day two started off with Mudra — classical dance competition. Shobhna from LSR won the competition. Saurabh Chaudhary and Dhruv Sharma from St. Stephens walked out as winners for the quiz event “Quriosity”. The team was awarded a cash prize of `4,000. The stand-up comedy stole the limelight. The audience applauded the wits of Abish Mathew and opening act by Raghav Mandava.
The closing day offered exhibitions and workshops besides a DJ night with DJ Gaurav. And to top it all, the Food Fest allowed everyone to tickle their tastebuds with a variety of mouthwatering food in the midst of all the excitement.
