Smoking kills

May 31 is World Anti-Tobacco Day. Young people smoke, despite the warnings on cigarette packs, due to peer pressure and as they think death is very far away. While banning the sale of loose cigarettes, larger warning labels and raising the legal age for buying tobacco is welcome, the real change has to come from within. Also, it must be tackled at the grassroots level, with tobacco growers. Any delay will lead to the nation paying a heavy price.
