Obama doesn’t care

S. Nihal Singh’s analysis of Jeffrey Goldberg’s article, “The Obama Doctrine” in the Atlantic — based on a series of conversations and interviews with Barack Obama — rightly interprets the sparse mention of India in the article (except for its role in climate change talks) to imply that it is not an important determiner of America’s security and strategic policy. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes pride in being on first-name terms with the American President, the truth is that India will always remain a secondary American interest.
