National shame

The Indian Olympic Association’s suspension by the International Olympic Committee is a blow to Indian sport. The national Olympic association was suspended following controversy over its elections. Although Indian sportspersons will be able to participate in major international sporting events, like the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympics, they will not be able to represent the country. This is a shame. What glory is a victory if one cannot hold high one’s national flag?

So, she prayed: “Dear God, instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don’t you just keep the ones you got now?” Laila’s prayer may never be answered; but, Easter does assure us that life, not death, is what we’re created for.
