National shame

The Indian Olympic Association’s suspension by the International Olympic Committee is a blow to Indian sport. The national Olympic association was suspended following controversy over its elections. Although Indian sportspersons will be able to participate in major international sporting events, like the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympics, they will not be able to represent the country. This is a shame. What glory is a victory if one cannot hold high one’s national flag?

January 27, 2015, was an eventful day. A few events took place almost simultaneously on this day that are likely to impact the future of India’s security and economy.

Sweet are the uses of bonhomie. All that jocular stuff between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama during the latter’s visit to India this week was a clincher.
