India’s girl power

Kudos to P.V. Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmakar for salvaging India’s reputation in Rio. It is sad that we have to use their achievement to create awareness about female foeticide. After all, everyone has the right to live, but in India girls are denied this right in the womb. Our abysmal sex ratio testifies that India is advanced only on paper. But at the same time, our Olympians have proved that if girls are given an equal chance at life and learning, they can lift the morale of an entire country.
