There’s no doubt that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is dead right in finding fault with the National Democratic Alliance government for allowing liquor baron Vijay Mallya to flee, but he has forgotten the greatest escapes — of Warren Anderson (Union Carbide), Ottavio Quattrocchi (Bofors) and Lalit Modi (IPL) who fled when the Congress was in power at the Centre. This is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. Such acts prove that the law only punishes the aam aadmi whereas there are many loopholes for the elite to escape the law.
