Expelling Jagmati Sangwan after she resigned from the CPI(M) is unacceptable.

Expelling Jagmati Sangwan after she resigned from the CPI(M) is unacceptable. Ms Sangwan, a social reformer from Haryana, made an issue of the expunging of the word “violation” from the 18th point of the politburo’s report, pertaining to the tieup with the Congress in West Bengal, which had disastrous consequences. Instead of accepting its mistake, the CPI(M) politburo chose to placate the defeated leadership in West Bengal (Surjyakanta Mishra and Biman Bose), not only dropping the word, but also sacking Ms Sangwan from the party for showing dissent. It’s the CPI(M)’s loss and exposes its hypocrisy.
