It was second day in succession that Indian envoy J.P. Singh was summoned by the foreign office over violation of ceasefire.

“The Indian deputy high commissioner was summoned by the director-general (South Asia & Saarc) today. A strong protest was lodged against the unprovoked ceasefire violations,” the foreign office said in a statement.

Meanwhile, an officer of the Border Security Force was injured when a shell fired by Pakistani Rangers exploded near him during overnight ceasefire violation in R.S. Pura sector along the International Border in Jammu.

In the last 24 hours, 10 people mostly women have been injured in the cross border firing in the R.S. Pura sector. “Assistant sub-inspector of BSF A.K. Upadhayay was injured when a shell exploded near him in R.S. Pura sector,” a BSF spokesperson said.
