Former BSP leader Swami Prasad Maurya, on Friday, formally launched a campaign to bring all ex-BSP leaders and workers on one platform.

Mr Maurya, accompanied by former BSP minister Daddu Prasad and BSP MLA Uday Lal Maurya, addressed his supporters at a meeting here and said that those who had looked upon Mayawati as a ‘deity of sorts’ were deeply saddened to see reality.

Terming her as “mahagaddar ki nani” (grandmother of traitors), Mr Maurya accused Ms Mayawati of changing the Bahujan Samaj Party to Behenji State Party.

He said that Kanshi Ram’s slogan was “jiski kitni sankhya bhari, uski utni hissedari” but Ms Mayawati followed the principle of “jiski jitni hai taiyari, uski utni his-sedari” which meant wh-osoever offered more mo-ney would get the ticket.

He said that Ms Mayawati was “selling” the dreams of late Kanshi Ram while Dalits were being exploited and ignored.

Reiterating his charge of ‘auctioning” tickets for the assembly electio-ns, Mr Maurya pointed out that the party workers could not even dream of contesting elections because they did not have crores of rupees to offer to the BSP president.

He alleged that she would soon flee the country with all the money she had collected. He also released a chargesheet against Ms Mayawati.

Mr Maurya said that the charge sheet was in the form of an open letter to Ms Mayawati in which he has questioned her exploitation of Dalits. Mr Maurya announced a massive rally in Lucknow on September 22 and attacked the SP and BJP, making it clear that he was not joining these two parties in near future. He said that late Kanshi Ram had spent his entire life fighting against exploitation of Dalits but his political heir Mayawati was exploiting Dalits for her political gains. He asked her to introspect why Dalits had deserted the BSP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Former BSP leader R K Chaudhary, who had quit the party on Thursday, was not present at the meeting. Former BSP minister Daddu Prasad said that time had come for all those who believed in the Bahujan Samaj movement to come together on one platform and work to realize the dreams of Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram. Mr Maurya’s meeting was attended by a large number of BSP workers who were either disillusioned with the party’s new work culture or were being sidelined by new entrants. Those present at the meeting included zila panchayat members from several districts including Kannauj, Mau and Sitapur. If this was the intention, the Mr Maurya was successful in establishing the fact that he commanded considerable support among Maurya, Shakya, Saini and Kushwaha communities.
