He wondered who advised imposition of Central Rule in Arunachal

The BJP, which has been getting flak from the Opposition over the imposition of President’s Rule in Arunachal Pradesh, on Saturday got hit from within.

It was the party’s star MP, Mr Shatrughan Sinha, who yet again decided to embarrass the outfit and the government on the Arunachal issue. And he did what he does best — ridiculing the advisers of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While Mr Sinha continued to embarrass his party, the BJP, after the Bihar rout, was still looking for the “courage” to take action against Mr Sinha, sources said.

Mr Sinha, who makes it a point to refer to Prime Minister Modi as a “dashing, dynamic action hero”, wondered who were these “great advisers” who advised imposition of Central Rule. ‘

“That too when the matter is sub judice, in the Supreme Court, under a 5-judge Constitution Bench. Wonder what was the hurry and worry,” he said in a series of tweets a day after the Centre justified its decision in the Supreme Court. “God forbid if the decision does not go in our favour, wonder what explanation and answer we will have,” he tweeted.

The BJP, which is in a complete mess in Bihar, seemed virtually helpless against the repeated jibes from its party MP. Instead of moving against the star MP, the BJP has decided to “ignore” him.

According to agency reports, Mr Sinha also said, “Narendra Modi is a well-meaning Prime Minister. It’s the advisers who sometimes give faulty opinion which leads to wrong political moves.”

This is not the first time that Mr Sinha has hit out at the party; he repeatedly lashed out during and after the Bihar polls.

“We have decided to ignore him as he is of no relevance to us,” said a senior party functionary. It may be recalled that during the Bihar polls the BJP not only sidelined Mr Sinha during the campaign but virtually humiliated him by inviting actor Ajay Devgn and party MP and yesteryears “dream girl” Hema Malini to campaign for the party. After the BJP was routed in Bihar, Mr Sinha, who had the last laugh, quipped that the party lost in Bihar because it had ignored him. The BJP, of course, had no answer to that.
