Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday advised the Sangh members not to make any statement that hurts any individual or a particular section of the society.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday advised the Sangh members not to make any statement that hurts any individual or a particular section of the society.

Speaking at the silver jubilee function of the Chhattisgarh chapter of Vidya Bharati here, Mr Bhagwat said the Sangh members should strive to take along with them all sections of people in the society and desist from making controversial statements that may upset sentiments of any individual. He said, in democracy, everyone has the right to air one’s views freely.

“But, at the same time, one should keep in mind that his or her views should not hurt any individual or any section of the society,” he remarked. He said only a society living in harmony would witness progress that would benefit all sections of people.

Making a pitch for spreading of Hindi vis-à-vis English, he said no language is untouchable, but teaching the children in their mother tongue would go a long way in enhancing their grasping power.

Mr Bhagwat later had closeted himself with chief minister Raman Singh and the latter’s MP son Abhishek for around an hour in the residence of a RSS leader here. However, the CM appeared to be reluctant to reveal what transpired in the meeting.
