Rahul can’t see graft at centre: BJP

After Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP over corruption and Lokpal bill issues, the BJP on Monday reacted by saying Mr Gandhi cannot see corruption at the Centre and has “accepted defeat” in UP before the polls.
“Neither the BJP nor corruption in Congress governments are visible to Rahul Gandhi. Those who are involved only with themselves and their family cannot see others,” said BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain.
The senior BJP leader also insisted that Congress should be concerned over the fact that Mr Gandhi said that his party “is fighting the polls (in UP) only to build up the organisation.”
During a media interaction in Varanasi earlier today, Mr Gandhi had hit out at the BJP on the issue of corruption and the Lokpal Bill. He also attacked Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for not allowing a Lokayu-kta to be appointed in his state. On Lokpal issue, the BJP leader insisted that the draft Lokpal bill is “weak” and his party will continue to raise the issue until government comes with a “strong” Lokpal bill.

Priyanka plays down comment by vadra

Robert Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on Monday said that he was ready to join politics.
“I am here for my brother-in-law. For me politics will come if I think I can make a difference for the people — only when I can feel I can focus and I can give my best and full attention for the development of the people. I am totally enjoying what I am doing right now. The family I married into is in politics. It is something I cannot run away from. When the time is right, if it is what is required at that time, may be, yes, but my focus is on my work right now,” he said in an informal chat with reporters in Amethi.
[Priyanka sought to downplay her husband’s comments on joining politics. “Look, you (media) must have asked him a twisted question and then misinterpreted it. Robertji is very happy doing his business and in my opinion he must have said that he is happy in his business,” she said, PTI reports.]

As a self-confessed hardliner, I must admit that being a part of the team engaged in Indo-Pak Track 2 dialogue has been very interesting.
