Posters demanding Shatrughan Sinha’s expulsion from the party surfaced in Patna on Thursday, creating confusion within the BJP as well as in Mr Sinha’s camp. The BJP MP from Patna Sahib was in the state capital to attend an event when posters accusing him for indulging in anti-party activities were put up near Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Sources said the youth wing of the BJP, in order to put pressure on the party to take “Kirti Azad-type of action to silence him”, used the poster campaign against Mr Sinha. The posters also highlighted some of his recent anti-party remarks.

The posters criticised Mr Sinha and asked the party to, “Khamosh (silence) him like Kirti Azad.” Mr Sinha, known for his blunt and straight remarks, launched a veiled attack against the party, saying he was not aware who was behind it and it will not stop him from speaking from his heart.

He said, “I believe in Dil Ki Baat and not Man ki Baat”. His statement is being seen as a swipe against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the radio program “Man Ki Baat” through which he addresses the nation.

Senior state unit leaders of the BJP when asked to clarify their stand on the issue denied party’s involvement saying that probe into the matter will be done to find out who was behind the act.
