New Delhi: National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday announced the alliance with Congress for Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the agreement, Congress would contest from Jammu and Udhampur whereas Farooq Abdullah would stand from Srinagar constituency.

In Anantnag and Baramulla NC and Congress would witness a friendly contest.
Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress: Friendly contest means that there will be no cut-throat contest between us on these two seats (Anantnag and Baramulla). If either Congress or NC wins, it's a win-win situation for both of us.

No consensus over the Ladakh seat has been taken yet.

Over the newly forged alliance, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "Alliance finalised in the national interest, to strengthen secular forces in J&K as the state faces threat from Pakistan."
